At 617MediaGroup, Senior Executive Vice President Emma is leading a team of strategic communicators, public relations experts, and multimedia specialists in a historic campaign championing new labor standards in rapidly emerging industries.
Emma brings her experience as a communications strategist and veteran of progressive legislative campaigns to the agency. She has a track record of building influence, impact, and an audience for leading nonprofit organizations, cultural institutions, labor coalitions, and government agencies.
After getting her start at the Women’s Media Center, Emma served as a communications consultant, elevating the stories of everyday New Yorkers to build public and political will for change – including the successful efforts to pass universal pre-K and paid sick days in New York City, bring paid family leave to New York State, and secure historic investment in the City’s public libraries. She worked with nonprofits to develop their message, shape the news, and impact policy. She consistently earned media coverage locally and nationally for clients including Brooklyn Public Library, the Urban Justice Center, First Corinthian Baptist Church, Food Bank for New York City, and 92Y.
Most recently, Emma was the communications director for NYC’s groundbreaking Pre-K for All and 3-K for All initiatives at the NYC Department of Education (DOE). While working at the NYC DOE, Emma oversaw city-wide marketing campaigns and developed internal and external communications strategies for the City’s expanding early childhood system.
