Brooke Kushwaha joined 617MediaGroup as an intern in May 2020 before being hired full-time as an Account Executive. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in the College of Letters, helming the nation’s oldest twice-weekly collegiate newspaper as Editor-in-Chief of The Wesleyan Argus.

As a student journalist, Brooke covered ongoing student labor protests and has followed the public health concerns associated with adolescent nicotine use since 2012, winning an award for Best News Reporting from the National Scholastic Press Association for her early coverage of e-cigarette use in preteens. She also worked closely with Title IX and the Survivor Advocacy and Community Education offices at Wesleyan to build a more equitable and trauma-informed newsroom at the Argus.

Before joining 617, she also served as Editorial Intern for both L’Officiel USA and V Magazine, specializing in music and culture writing, and contributed several profiles to L’Officiel’s sister publication, L’Officiel Italia.
