Abraham White, Senior Vice President at 617MediaGroup, is a seasoned communications professional and digital strategist with more than 12 years of experience leading winning progressive campaigns.
At 617MediaGroup, Abraham builds high-impact communications campaigns which secure major media attention and move policymakers and companies to action. Abraham established his reputation as an expert media strategist on high-profile political campaigns across the country, including in battleground states like Iowa and New Hampshire, as well as major media markets in California, New York, and Massachusetts.
Most recently, Abraham managed national media for United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) International Union, America’s largest union for essential workers in grocery stores, meatpacking plants, and other frontline businesses. When COVID-19 put the union’s members on the frontlines of the pandemic, Abraham led crisis communications to strongly establish UFCW as the nation’s leading voice on worker safety in these industries by securing high-profile TV and radio interviews on Good Morning America, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NPR, and other media outlets.
Abraham further elevated UFCW’s call for action to strengthen worker safety through national media coverage in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. As part of the union’s national hazard pay campaign, Abraham secured strategic placement of an op-ed with Vice President Kamala Harris on CNN.com and generated key regional media coverage for UFCW’s local unions in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and other states. Additionally, he managed rapid response media operations for the 2019 Stop & Shop 31,000 grocery worker strike in New England, the industry’s largest strike in nearly 20 years.
Previously, Abraham served in communications roles for Congressional leaders like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate HELP Committee Chairman Tom Harkin, and House Rules Committee Ranking Member Jim McGovern, as well as national advocacy groups like the EMILYs List and the Center for American Progress and battleground political campaigns for U.S. Senate and House candidates across the country.
Abraham studied economics and political science at the University of California, San Diego where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He currently resides in Philadelphia.
